A rectangular porcelain snuff bottle, finely painted with ladies in a mountainous landscape respectively in a garden. Enameled in the "Famille rose" palette, the sides with stylized dragon heads between lattice work in overglaze blue. The mouthrim with gilding residue, the stopper made of amber-imitating material, bone spoon. Condition: mouthrim slightly chipped, wear to decoration, some fritting. Baluster and quadrangular in shape, this very original cast iron vase has twisted handles and a gadrooned body. It rests on 4 small round feet. The flared shape of the collar is chiselled and engraved with beautifully golden waves. Signed. Origin: Japan. Period: 19th. Height: 21 cm.

Antique Chinese bronze vase in the shape of a ritual libation vessel (gu). Cast with archaic form and motifs. The gu form vessel was first developed in the Shang Dynasty when it was used for both drinking wine and for offering ritual libations. Antique Japanese set of folding Buddhist shrine doors. Made of wood and lacquered black with accents in gold lacquer and green mineral pigment. Extensive gilt copper hardware incised with scrolling vines. The doors are in four sections: two sets that are hinged together and close with a single latch in the center.

This is definitely the best work by modern avangarde artist Hiramatsu Ryoma and it demonstrates his creative imagination and challenges the traditional boundaries of what defines a tea bowl.

He surely needs no introduction. Ryoma is one of those once in 500 years' type of artists. He is a potter who goes beyond that usual appellation. He has developed his own way of expressing himself through ceramics.

Old Taoist priest's robe, from The Yao ethnic group Southwest China. There are various Taoist deities, dragons and other mythical beasts embroidered on handwoven cloth and also has handwoven hemp lining. The rest of the robe is made from commercial cloth. W: 190cm/74 x H: 100cm/39in. Some of the threads are loose or pulled so please examine the enlargements carefully. The embroidered area is quite old dating to first half of the 20th century or earlier.

A spectacular Meiji to Taisho period Golden box decorated with a spray of flowers under an imperial Chrysanthemum. The interior and bottom are elegant Nashiji, and the border between box and lid is protected by a solid silver rim. Kirigane cut gold flakes decorate the raised leaves. It comes enclosed in a custom made kiri-wood storage box. The gilded receptacle is 30 x 24.5 x 14 cm (12 x 9-3/4 x 5-1/2 inches) and it is in excellent condition.

An incense burner of colored and mixed raw porcelain by Kusabe Yuji enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Neriage Kuro-Nami-mon Koro (Black Wave Pattern Censer). It is 9 cm (3-1/2 inches) diameter, 11 cm (just over 4 inches) tall and in perfect condition, directly from the artist.

An antique Japanese Tansu chest from the Tohoku region of Japan used for merchant organizing and storage. Made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods and finished using a wiped lacquer technique. 14 drawers total with the bottom two having lock plates where valuables were kept away from prying hands.

Kakute style handle pulls with Tohoku lock plates designating its origins. A functional chest where merchant wares could be easily stored and retrieved.

An antique Japanese Tansu chest from the Matsumoto region of Japan made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. Original Urushi lacquer finish and hand forged iron hardware. Lock plates feature an incised Kiri (Paulownia) leaf Mon (family crest) and drawer pulls fashioned in the Mokko design with elaborate back plates. Upper section has 3 drawers and lower section has 2 drawers used to safely store valuable silk kimonos.
