A rare Chinese painted grey pottery figure of a standing musician wearing a long robe and wind hat, Northern Wei dynasty (386 - 535 AD). 20 cms. Oxford TL test certificate. To date I have seen only one other musician from this rare set.

Chinese Song dynasty shallow bowl covered in a pale finely crackled gray-green qingbai (yingqing) glaze that stops at the unglazed slightly recessed low foot. The exterior is decorated with carved and/or moulded petal forms. Measures just over 6” diameter x 1 3/4" high. Circa 13th century. Very good overall condition.
