$2,500.00 Antique Chinese pair of stone temple door supports with carvings of fu dogs, seated on tanggu (ceremonial drums) on large pedestals. Intricately carved detail with emblems of dragons and auspicious characters on the front of each pedestal. The smaller female fu dog on the left is carved with her mouth closed, while the larger male on the right has an open mouth. This is a typical depiction to represent the sacred mantra "om". Extremely heavy, solid stone.

Itahi stupa, commonly referred to as an aoishitoba (lit. blue-stone stupa), sculpted in shallow relief from blue-green schist, featuring three bonji (Siddham seed syllables) symbolizing the Amida Triad comprising Amida Buddha, Kannon Bosatsu, and Seishi Bosatsu. Dated to the second year of the Enbun Era (1357), Nanbokucho Period. Minor old edge and surface loss.
Height: 71 cm An outstanding example of type, with irrefutable 14 c. temporal provenance and in exce... Of oval shape, decorated with flower branches. Qianlong period, (1736-1795).
Dimensions: 31x25x8 cm. Excellent condition, only minor ware to the glaze on the rim.

Flycatcher and Cucumber. Date: pre-1936. Size: Approximately 10.0 x 3.5 inches. Publisher: Watanabe Shozaburo. W36-458 in Watanabe 1936 catalog. Bears the Shoson seal. Reference: S10.3 (cat. 160, p. 156) in Crows, Cranes and Camellias: The Natural World of Ohara Koson (Reigle Newland). Condition: Excellent. Lovely example of Han tomb sculpture. Made of red pottery, painted with red, white and black pigments. Both are in good condition, with normal age wear. Please note the remains of plant roots on one of the oxen, a very good sign of authenticity. A TL report from Ralf Kotalla confirms the age. H. 16 cm, L. 20 cm.

The vase is 3300 g heavy and has a height of 8,1'' and a width of 7,1'', which is very tall for an antique Iga vase. The vase was made between 1800 - 1850 during the later Edo Period and is in good antique condition. No repairs. Only an untimportant chip on the bottom caused during the process of firing.
