Six Jizo Bosatsu figures standing in a row, each with hands forming the gassho adoration mudra, sculpted in relief from tuff, an igneous stone composed primarily of volcanic ash. Early-Edo Period ca. 1650. Minor old loss and desirable softening of the lines and contours overall. Excellent lichen accumulation.

Antique Japanese noh theatre mask of the character Ko-Omote, a youthful girl. Very unusual that this mask is made of ceramic instead of carved from wood. Beautifully painted with red lips and blackened teeth, joyful eyes and dark hair with four loose strands, very important defining characteristics to tell each mask apart. Distorted half cylinder shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl with slightly flaring mouth made of light, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potters knife. With the exception of the foot ring the bowl is covered with a clear (wood ash and feldspar) glaze inside and out.
