sold thank you This is rinzu silk fukusa textile in Edo period(1603-1867).
It is an elegant design with good history of the bamboo and bamboo shoots. All embroideries are the hands. There is no stain. There is one very little small hole. However, it is very good.
I recommend it for your collection.

SOLD. Standing Jizo Bosatsu sculpted from a gray-hued sandstone, a hoju (sacred jewel) balanced atop the covered hands. Mid-Edo Period ca. 1750. Softening of the lines and contours overall. Good lichen accumulation.
Height: 36.4 cm A rotund Jizo with rectilinear flair, impossibly tiny feet, and endearing expressivity.

Sold to UK - September 2011 售至英国 - 2011年9月 A 16th or early 17th Century Ming dynasty bronze sculpture of a boy riding an Ox or Water Buffalo. This item was possibly made during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). Condition - very good - no damages and no repairs. Please note - this item is heavy for its size (550gms / 20oz) and requires a solid horizontal surface to balance upright. 10cm (4 inches) high; 11.5cm (4.5 inches) long.

SOLD Altar table from the 19th century mad of ju-mu (elm) wood. Beautifully carved registers adorn the altar. They are carved with bats, deer, fish, and flowers. The drawers have round handles. The cabinet opens into a space with a shelf. It measures 72" wide, 35 tall, 20" deep.

Sold to Germany - August 2011 An early 18th Century "Chinese Imari" Tea Caddy or Cannister made in Jingdezhen, southern China, for export to Europe during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1736). Condition - there is no cover, there are small chips / frits to the base and there are chips to the shoulder; no cracks and no restoration. 9cm (3.5 inches) high.

Sold to China - September 2011 售至中国 - 2011年9月 A large, extremely finely carved, hardwood ox or buffalo, surmounted by a young boy, on original openwork stand, probably made for export during the second half of the 19th Century circa 1850-1900. Condition - very good - both horns and the leading foot have been well repaired and the wood appears to have been "patched" and "joined" before carving. 24cm (9.5 inches high); 33cm (13 inches) long on stand.

The drawers each have two sections and are numbered on the back. There are two large drawers that are divided into three sections. They are fitted with round brass drawers pulls. The front is faced with jumu wood. It measures 37" wide 66" tall 18.75" deep.

This item was made in China, circa 1966-1976, during the Cultural Revolution period. Condition - the tambourine has been broken - no further damage or restoration. 18.5cm (7.25 inches) high.

SOLD. Seated Jizo Bosatsu sculpted from granite, the tiny, centrally placed hands holding a sacred jewel. Mid-Edo Period ca. 1725. Very minor old loss. Lichen accumulation overall, including a distinctive rust-colored strain.
Height: 30.5 cm An imaginatively stylized Jizo stone, with a rarely seen rust-colored lichen feeding apparently on oxidized iron unevenly deposited throughout the granite. A charming piece. |
