The frame of the chest was made using Suginoki wood measuring a very thick 1 1/ 8". Constructed with straight dovetail Japanese joinery and hardened wooden nails. It has 5 drawers and a pair of hinged doors that open to a spacious storage area with a split level shelf. All original hand forged iron hardware.

SOLD Antique Tibetan painted traveling trunk (also known as a Yak butter trunk) used to store and transport religious yak butter sculptures and artifacts. The main image shows a flaming jewel while the surrounding painting shows an octagonal foliated grid pattern. The fractal design shows an infinite repetition of the Mandala shapes and patterns. SOLD Antique Japanese figure of the seated Amida Nyoria (Amitaba) Lord Buddha. He is seated on a lotus throne, his hands in his lap in Dhyan Mudra (meditation). Carved of wood with gilt lacquer and traces of pigments on the lotos throne. His hair atop his subtle ushnisha is arranged in sweeping striations instead of the tight curls more commonly seen. His heavily lidded eyes are inset with glass or crystal and his facial expression radiates a calm stillness.
