This rare group dates from the early Tang Dynasty. It's made of grey pottery and it has traces of painting ( see the back of the cart ). The ox is very well proprtioned and was made with an eye for detail: notice the ring in the nose and the tail curved around its body. The cart consists of three parts; the weels come off. The three pieces have been mounted on a professional stand. Dimensions: the ox : height 18 cm, length 24 cm, the cart: height 31 cm, length 23 cm, width 17 cm...

Made of red pottery, covered with a white slib on which the painting was applied. Some of the pigments are still remaining. H. 32 cm. Condition: very good, no traces of repair, although repairs are very common and accepted on archaeological pieces. There is paint loss and there is soil stuck to the figure. On the inside there are the remains of plant roots. A TL-test from Laboratory Kotalla confirms the authenticity of this piece. We bought tree fat ladies that came from the same tomb...

A fascinating Chinese terra cotta tomb figure of a calf or a cow-like figure. The figure retains a realistic aura, an important element for tomb figures where the figures were for the afterlife. Stunning elements of the original pigment much still intact. Age: Han Dynasty (200BC-200AD),Size: length 15.5" width 5.5" height 10.5"

A very rare round, domed ceramic chop ink container with paintings of "a hundred boys." The background is off-white with the paintings of the rotund little boys at play in cobalt blue. The surface is heavily crazed. Kangxi seal mark.

Period: Ching Period 1662 - 1722 AD

Size: Height = 5.8 cm (2-1/4 inches, Diameter = 13.8 cm (5-7/16 inches)

Condition: The bottom has chips along the rim, possibly from trying to pry it open at one time. Can be restored...

An unusual divided plate with floral designs and two large bats on the underside,symbolizing fruitfulness, prosperity and happiness. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nonya ware. Nyonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: W.12.5cm. H. 3.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

China, Song (Sung) Dynasty, ca. 960 to 1279 CE, Cizhou or Henan Kiln. Lovely ceramic tea bowl covered with heavy deep brown glaze on the interior and the exterior with grey/beige rim. A lovely example!

The conical sides rising from a short straight foot to rim, the interior painted in white slip with a pair of long tailed phoenix with florets on a black ground, the exterior covered with a similar black glaze with tortoise shell pattern stopping short of the foot. Diameter: 11.6 cm.

Diameter 29 cm. Large hairline and a small rim chip. From a Dutch private collection. The hairline can be bleached to make it less visible.

Green and ochre glaze on a yellowish white ground. Diameter 10 cm. H. 4 cm. condition: expected age wear and cracks to the glaze, otherwise in very good condition. No cracks, no repairs. Tang Dynasty (618-906)

A nice group of Ming miniature glazed food tomb items for taking into the next world. During the Shang Dynasty all the actual pieces were used and have been replaced with pottery figures from the original size to this size. Sizes: See photos. Condition: Very good.
