SOLD Antique Chinese rectangular caligraphy box made from white brass, with built-in inkstone. The interior has old ink patina. The lid is inscribed with auspicious calligraphy and signature. Dates from 19th century.

This type of necklace with a pendant in the shape of a lock was given to Chinese children, so they would be ‘locked’ to life.
1. Large silver pendant decorated in enamel with two hares. The back with good fortune text. 7,5 x 5 cm. ( wear to the enamel)

$160.00 A lidded brass box, made around 1900, Chinese. Small brass medallions with auspicious flowers and birds have been soldered on to the box, and to the front are two enamel and copper medallions with cranes. One medallion is of the shou symbol surrounded by bats. The wooden lining suggests that the box was used for cigars. The back with stamped mark CHINA. Nice format, width "5 ¼ / 13.3 cm, height "2 / 5 cm. Condition: fine.

$675.00 Rare and endearing figure of a young boy disciple of Quanyin (the Goddess of Compassion) wearing a garment etched with a lotus flower - the symbol of Buddhism. He is often depicted near Quanyin with his hands in reverential prayer. The bronze is heavily cast and has wires imbedded underneath the pedestal, perhaps for attaching to a group of figures. $2,000.00 Antique Chinese bronze mirror. The front is decorated with motifs of birds, squirrels, and grapes in high relief. The largest center squirrel is pierced through for attaching to a silk cord. The opposite side is a flat and smooth mirror surface in deep shades of green and black. Original patina.

Price on Request Archaic bronze lidded ritual food vessel on three legs (Ding). The body is round in form and divided into banded areas of detailed interlocking cloud and thunder motif. The band closest to the rim curves inward before flanging out again. There are two animal headed looped handles cast on either side. The three feet are squat and curved with cast details like those on the handles. The lid is similarly divided into banded areas to match the body...
