ESL Collection
Sold A Chinese gilt lacquered bronze Guanyin from Ming Dynasty. Condition: lacquer and metal loses, there is only part of the reddish-gold lacquer still remains on the surface. Please see photos for condition details. Height: 9-1/4". Provenance: Acquired from the collection of retired University of California Professor D. Gibbs.
A pair antique reticulated Chinese silver incense stick holders. Decorated with dragons among clouds chasing the pearl, fixed on Chinese pierced wooden stands. No maker's mark, silver tested. Condition: some traces of usage. Dimension: total c. 11.9 cm high, diameter base: 8.6 cm.
A pair Chinese silver spill vases made for the Western export or used in the Chinese market as incense stick holders. Decorated with prunus twigs, standing on three splayed feet with original clear glass inserts. Base with maker's mark "WH90", standing for the Wang Hing Company, working in Shanghai and Hong Kong around 1900. Condition: fine, few traces of usage, one insert seems to be a bit too long. Dimension: c. 11.6 cm high, weight of silver: 90 g.

Chinese Ming dynasty bronze standing acolyte on wood stand naturalistically pierced and carved to resemble a rocky outcropping. The left hand holds an object and the right hand gestures with two fingers pointing to the ground. The figure wears a gown and a headdress with long billowing ribbon scarves. Metal prongs secure the figure into the stand which appears to be original. 6 5/8" high on the stand. Excluding the metal prongs, the figure is slightly over 5" high. Circa 16th century...
