$9,000.00 Chinese soapstone carving of a scene from a folk tale: the famous Tang Dynasty poet, Meng Haoran (689-740) ventures out into the snow with his young attendant in search of plum blossoms in the snowy hills. In finding this hint of early spring, he hoped to find inspiration for his poems. They see an amazing plum tree starting it's bloom in the cold of late winter...
Small figurine representing Kuan Yin, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, in formal attire and wearing elaborate diadem and necklaces, sitting cross-legged on an elevated throne around which reclining lions are showing. Bronze, with dark reddish-green patina. China, Northern Wei or Sui Dynasty. Height: 2 3/4" (7 cm). Strong erosion due to great age, right hand partly chipped (old accident) otherwise good condition. An extremely rare object.

Sold to Taiwan The Guanyin seated on a lotus throne, accompanied by two attendants. At the back of the figure there is an opening where offerings or religious texts were kept. This piece is 35 cm tall and dates from the 18th century. Condition: paint loss, worm holes (treated), age wear, an ornament missing at the top of the back plate. From a Dutch private collection.

Already Sold Wonderful 46 cm and 8,16 kg heavy Chinese bronze Guanyin Buddha from our Buddha collection, made in the 18th century. The Guanyin (Kwan Yin) is wearing a long robe and is sitting with two hands hidden in the clothes, holding a reel. Very smooth and kind expression.
