A very large jade disc carved with a hole in the center. Both sides of this central hole are lipped which is very rare in "bi's." Compared with flat bi's, lipped bi's require a lot more carving and are much more difficult to make. The bi is beautiful with its complex colors and patterns. The colors range from cream to greys, ochres, greens and blues.Period: Neolithic ( 3rd millennium B.C.)

The female part (明妃）of a Tibetan gilt statue of Nandikesvara (歡喜佛）. 19th century or earlier. Condition: gilt lost. We noticed that there are two layers of gilt remained: the original one is glossier, and the later layer is not as glossy, and a good part of them are gone now. Dimensions: 4-1/2"w, 4"h.

Wood statue of a bearded Taoist deity, in formal attire, sitting on a throne. China, Late Yuan, early Ming Dynasty. Height: 24.3 cm. Obvious signs of great age, otherwise good condition.

A beautifully carved and gilt boxwood figure of Guan Yin / Guanyin. The goddess is holding the holy Buddhist scripture and has placed her hand between the open pages. China, Republic period, c 1920. The surface of the carving is covered with a thin layer of red that mixes with the gilt. The figure can be fixed to an oval wooden stand. Height (the stand not included) "4 ¾ / 12.3 cm. A very rare pair of Antique European late 19th century cold painted spelter sculptures on elaborated square bases. The finely and realistically modelled sculptures depict a Chinese man and a Chinese woman in national costumes. The man is wearing a long green robe with gold swirl motifs, grey Balloon Pants and red shoes on his feet, the hair is braided and drawn back under a black hat. His left hand is grasping a Chinese musical stringed instrument (Erhu)...

Antique Chinese pair of stone temple fu dogs. These fierce guardians would have been placed on either side of the entrance to a Buddhist temple in order to ward off evil spirits. One statue has its mouth open and the other mouth is closed, a symbolic trait to represent the in-and-out breathing of life and the sound of “om.” Heavy in weight.
