$250.00 A nicely shaped plate with floral design with bat and peach motif painted on the underside for good luck. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nyonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: 19.5 x 13.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

SOLD Chinese yellow soapstone scholar's seal. The stone is carved with scenes of sages and their attendant with landscape ground of mountains, pine trees, and bamboo. The reverse is also carved with a man seated at the edge of water, his finger pointing towards the mountains where a temple roof is partially unobscured. The seal on the base of the soapstone reads "a virtue should be praised".

$2,500.00 Tang authentic pottery plate with a sancai-glazed inner and outer rim. The alternating and flowing green and ochre/brown glazes give beauty to the simple form of the plate. Under magnification, the glaze shows very fine crackle and the edge of the glaze is iridescent.
Period: Tang Dynasty(618 - 907 AD) Size: Diameter = 23.2 cm (9-1/8 inches) Condition: Good. No cracks or breaks. Has stacking spur marks from when it was fired. Has a small chip on the rim.

Usually these are characterized by such components such as under-glazed yelow-brownish and green motifs with molded design in relief, appliqué designs or impressed designs in relief and also incised or carved designs. The unique feature of the water dropper is the olive/brown glaze that is more like yue ware, but the paste and glaze is actually one of the rarest Changsha kiln products that exist...
