Gilt Lacquered Bronze Immortal Riding Kilin, 16th Century

He is 11 inches (28 cm) tall by 8.5 inches (21.5 cm) wide. He weighs 9 lb.

He has peeling of lacquer, loss of gilding, oxidation, a manufacture repair at the bottom (to cover a hole), firing holes and cracks, missing accessory, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A bowl, made in imitation of late Qing Imperial style, with two roundels - one depicting a five clawed Dragon and the other a Phoenix - both separated by two iron red bats and above stylized breaking waves. The base carries what is probably the factory mark which, in Pinyin, reads "Jiu Jiang Hui Kang Chu Pin". This item was made in China in the 1940s during the late Republic period. A very unusual and extremely rare ink cake in the form of a crouching dog, circa 1800. From its underside you see evidence that the ink cake was hand molded, what is even more remarkable is that this is a white ink cake, and most likely would have been used in special paintings of the scholar class. Very rare and fine JIN DYNASTY Terracotta Tomb Brick Panel depicting a festive male drummer with flowing robes playing the waist drum (1115-1234 A.D), China. The waist drum with it's hourglass shape and cloth covering was tied to the players waist to allow him to move freely, without hindrance. It was an instrument of choice for dancers. In Shanxi, a waist drum dance dating back some 2000 years is still practiced today...

A very finely potted and finely painted blue and white vase depicting three five-clawed dragons, amongst cloud scrolls, in pursuit of flaming pearls and above stylized breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) but, after three years deliberation, we have come to the conclusion that this item was probably made later, circa 1880-1920, during the late Qing or early Republic periods...

A finely blue ground garlic head vase, decorated with a biscuit Lizard swirling to the neck. Late Ming dynasty in perfect condition. Height: 22cm.

DESCRIPTION: A Chinese pendant with coral colored stone mounted as a brooch in high relief with a scholar standing under a twisting pine in a mountain setting. The rectangular gilt frame is cast as four bamboo stalks and has a sturdy open “mesh” backing fitted with a stick pin and gold loop so that it can be worn as a brooch or necklace. Very fine work overall with no tarnish anywhere to the gilt frame. DIMENSIONS: 2 3/8” long (6 cm) x 1 7/8” wide (4.8 cm).

An intricately hand carved wooden opium den lamp in the shape of a chair. The carving on the front bottom panel is a scene with 3 people. The central character seated at a table appears to be of the scholar class. The brackets on each side have a guardian figure. Used to illuminate Chinese opium dens, lamps like this were often their only source of lighting. The lamp’s burner bowl is stoneware is most likely a replacement...

Large Chinese jade boulder, carved with scene of mountain pavilion with figures and pine trees, beautiful green color with orange rind. VIntage c1960. Size of jade: 7 1/2" high 9 1/4" long x 2 3/4" thick. On wooden stand: 9" high x 10" wide x 4" deep.

A well carved Chinese nephrite jade with the natural skin. Hand carved stone of a camel (luotuo) and Calf. Fine detailwork on the tail and sections of the face has been executed on the jade.
