Born in Shigaraki in 1913, Tani Seiuemon was the key person to revive old Ko-Shigaraki and Ko-Iga styles with natural ash glaze effects. Joji Yamashita was born in Tokyo in 1947. He moved to Canada in 1967 where he graduated from Vancouver Art School. After returning to Japan in 1970, he studied Bizen ware under Isezaki Jun and established his own kiln in 1978... 17th/18th century Shino-Ware Kogo (Incense box) Edo period (1603-1868)
