Seated Jizo Bosatsu, the hands placed centrally on the lap holding a sacred jewel (Jp. hoju), sculpted figurally from a large-grained tawny-hued sedimentary stone. Mid-Edo Period ca. 1700. Very minor old loss and softening of the lines and contours overall, with light lichen accumulation.

We like to offer a rare antique Tako-Tsubo Akashi Vase, made 120 years ago during the Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912). This vase is designed to imitate a 'TAKO-TSUBO', an traditional octopus trap. Sculptures of two octopuses are incorporated into the vase.

This is a Japanese antique excellent silk kinran Weave and hand-embroidery kesa textile of the edo era(1800-1867) . The lining is silk safflower dyed. There are some stains, and a part of the embroidery thread is peeled off. There is a small hole. But they don't stand out. Recommended for your antique textile collection.
