Japanese zenibako (money safe box) made with Keyaki (zelkova) burl wood in original red lacquer finish. The zenibako is fitted with brass hardware including side handles in a mokko (melon) motif. The hinged lid has a large front lock plate with matching key, and a calligraphy inscription on the underside. The interior of the zenibako holds two open compartments.

Japanese two section tansu made with Kiri (paulownia) wood. The chest's four front drawers feature large, round Kiri wood mon (family crest) motif lock plates , while the Warabite style drawer pulls have small pierced plates below them in the style of a crane mon. The bottom section holds a small corner safe door with two small drawers inside.

Clearly dated to the 10th year of the Kyoho Era (1725), mid-Edo Period. Very good condition, with only a couple of points of very minor old loss...

So rare! Wonderful Gozu Aka-e Mizusashi by greatest Eiraku Zengoro Hozen, made during the Japanese Edo Period. It is in perfect antique condition without cracks or repairs.

The red and green scroll work in over glaze enamels on a white crackled ground is superb and well balanced. The round Eiraku seal is on the lower side.

A large and stupendous glass vase with a wide mouth decorated with deep, green abstract bands on gold foil by glass artist Tabuchi Koseki (b. 1932). Mouth and bottom with darker bands of deep brownish colour. Signed in the bottom ‘Koseki.’ It comes with fully inscribed, signed and stamped storage box, kiri-tomobako. Japan, late Showa, ca. 1980. A plum by Yumei Sosho of Sokokuji temple timidly opens its blossoms under a brief epithet by Taishitsu Sosho of Daitokuji temple. A rare gassaku work by these two priests. Ink on paper in original border, ivory rollers dated 1808. The ivory rollers will be replaced if shipping overseas. The scroll is 12 x 71 inches (31 x 180 cm). Overall it is in fine condition considering the age, however does cup some in the center and there are some marks mostly visible in the upper and lower borders...

A Japanese single section Sendai tansu, constructed of Keyaki (elm) front panels and Sugi (cedar) sides, with original light finish and black lacquered frame. The drawers of this chest have large, decorative, hand-forged iron lock plates with floral motifs and mokko (melon) handles. The side of the chest has a safe door with 3 small Keyaki burl front drawers inside.
