A mother of pearl inlaid hardwood table screen. Flowers, birds and butterflies garden motif. Southern Chinese or Vietnamese, late 19th century. Good, serviceable condition with only minor mother of pearl loss. Wood tenons on either side of the panel hold it fast within grooves routed the length of the two posts on the base. One tenon missing on one side (an easy project) but not compromising stability. Height assembled, 26 1/2 inches.

Three Vietnamese 15th Century Blue & White Porcelain Jars

A selection of three jars made during the 15th century and decorated in underglaze blue. The "double-gourd" jar (height 7.5cm) is from the "Hoi An" shipwreck and has a degraded surface. The round jarlet (height 5.75cm) is attractively decorated and has a very nice "feel" to it when handled. It has a few "nibbles" to the vulnerable mouth. The wider jar (diameter 9.5cm) is certainly the rarest of the three and is in fine condition...

Statue of Buddha, his face reflecting a profound inner serenity, wearing monk's robes, sitting on an elevated throne, his hands in "bhumisparsa mudra". Slightly eroded alabaster. Height: 24.4 cm. Very good condition. Note: The statue was hollowed out inside, a feature which is quite rare, such statues being carved outside only.
