$300.00 19th century hand carved Asian figural cheroot pipe with a Mother-of-Pearl disk inset on each side and a dark red lacquer rim. A very unusual and collectible pipe that was used "back in the day" when smoking cheroot in pipes was fashionable. Missing its stem which could have been metal or reed. Measures 3.5 inches long.

The cross is formed of two hardwood elements (probably rosewood), a central staff, and a horizontal bar, inlaid with incised and finely engraved mother-of-pearl to depict vines and acanthus leaves. The Asian Art Museum houses a superb similar statue, a photo of which is attached.
A wooden plinth was made around 1900 to stabilize the statue.
Height without the wooden base: 115 mm (4.5 inches).

solded White porcelain bowl covered with transparent cracked glaze, decorated with volutes in cobalt blue under glaze. Vietnamese work from the 15-16th century.
Good condition, normal wear for a centuries-old ceramic, an insignificant chip in the paste on the edge of the foot visible on photo.
Diameter: 15cm.
Compare with very same bowl ,housed in Birmingham Museum.
