SOLD Japanese antique bamboo basket, with beautiful handle attached at the lower sides and bound with special decorative stylized knots. Hexagonal body of woven herringbone pattern. Feet at bottom are made of special decorative knots that are attached to ribbed shaped splines. Signed at bottom. The characters are:
寿雲斎作 "Made by Juunsai (寿雲斎)". Overall excellent condition.

SOLD Chinese Jade carving of a maiden representing "Yuenu", a historic figure famous for her ability at archery and how to use a sword. She came from the Chinese province of Zhejiang and is sometimes called the Maiden of the Southern Forrest. The jade is beautifully carved with her holding a sword in her left hand and a ruyi scepter in her right, cloths flowing in the wind.

It is unusual in that the central medallion features a group of scholars. The rough and somewhat gritty bottom of the plate without any factory markings suggest a factory production circa 1850-1891. In very good antique condition, there is some wear to the enameling in one spot. See photos. Measures 9.5 inches diameter.

$1800.00 This is a very fine pair of Japanese satsuma vases that stand just 4 1/4 inches tall. Attractive form, enamel colors and very fine details. They look like they have spent most of their lives stored in the box. One has the original sticker and both are signed. The signature looks a bit like the Kozan mark but we are not sure. Some of the larger flowers remind us of work seen on Bizan and Yabu pieces.
