Japanese Fruitwood round tray, carved from one piece of wood with high rim, Japanese Kanji writing in the center for "Good Health Prize" 11 1/2" diameter, 1 3/4" high, 1/2" thick for rim, in good beautiful condition.

The dish is in “Ko Sometsuke” style. It is decorated in underglaze blue with an Island Scene shrouded in auspicious ruyi form clouds which recedes into the background, three geese Kari occupy the mid ground (a seasonal motif associated with Autumn) and in the foreground Arumi rough waves crash over kaisou, water weeds, and Conches, horagai and Scallops, hotategai. Slight thinly potted and shallow form rounded side celadon bowl, decorated with nice lotus petals to the exterior and plain to interior with a circular area concave to the center. Covered overall with even blue green glazed. Late Northern Song Longquan ware. Condition is perfect, with no any chips, no any cracks and free from any restoration. Very nice piece which found at Indonesia archipelago. Diameter: 15,8 cm and Height: 5 cm.

Head of Buddha with a serene expression. Grey sandstone, with some remnants of the original lacquering and gilding at the back. Ears partly missing, nose restored. Thai Ayuthaya period, 16th/17th century. The head is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Height of the head: 18 cm.

The expression of Sakyamuni is beautiful and serene. Clearly carved by a master artist. The image is made of one single piece of precious, dark purplish zitan wood. These type of wood images were made of different parts and assembled ( it can be seen by the holes where the various parts would have been stacked together ).
