Rokubei I ceramics are very rare and mostly found in museums. His signature is stamped on the base.

The bowl has a wide diameter, slightly flattened with curved edges, giving it a delicate look. When turned over, the brown clay is visible under the thick white glaze. This shape was a favorite of Gengensai (1810-1877), the 11th head of the Urasenke Tea Ceremony School.

Sculpture carved out of the root section of a keyaki tree. A fox looking back. The roots that grew downwards form the legs, a small root growing horizontally forms the tail. The base section was originally the hollow trunk, filled in with an oval piece of keyaki (zelkova) wood. Wood polished.

A beautiful 19th century Mishima style Hakeme-chawan inlaid with designs in white slip from the Rakuzan kilns of Shimane prefecture. It comes in a silk lined cloth pouch enclosed in an old kiri-wood box titled Rakuzan Yaki Chawan. Inside the lid is a poem accompanied by a painting of a soaring bird.
