SOLD Japanese 2 section isho tansu (clothing chest of drawers) constructed of Kiri (paulownia) wood with Keyaki (elm) burl front panels, and hand-forged iron plating and hardware. The top section of the chest holds a large open compartment with five drawers below. The bottom section of the tansu holds five drawers for clothes storage.
Meiji period (1868-1912) Dimensions: 35" x 16" x 62 1/2" H Finely cast statue of bodhisattva Shadakshari Lokeshvara, sitting on a double lotus throne, wearing diadem and formal attire with jewels, with his four arms, two in front in praying posture, the other two on the sides with left hand holding a lotus and right hand holding a necklace. Copper, with nice age patina. Tibet, early 19th century. Height: 8.7 cm. Very good condition.
