Sold, Thank You! With short neck and ovoid body, this beautiful Japanese copper ‘do-chu' vase is marked 'Hisayoshi' on the side. The brilliant rich color of this type of ware is achieved by adding smoked straw during firing and often deepens over time. This stained metal canvas makes the perfect backdrop for the decorative cherry blossoms and single dazzling chrysanthemum depicted in fine detail on the front of the vase.

$6,000.00 Japanese 17th/18th century scroll painting of a buddhist priest, outlined in a very rare style of incredibly tiny calligraphy mantra. The mantra repeats "Amida Butsu Nam Mo". The meditating priest holds a strand of mala beads and a willow branch and is seated upon a green lotus throne on clouds. $650.00 This large Chinese scale has metal balance beams and shallow metal bowls. The scale fits into an ornately carved red and black lacquer wooden case which is slightly domed and has its original copper band closure.
There is some wood chip loss around what was the hole for the string which allowed the case to be hung up for storage.

sold Impressive Japanese Kyo-yaki Chawan, hand molded by legendary Nin'ami Dohachi during the Edo Period. His signature is written on the bottom of the chawan. It comes with an older wooden box. Size: 7,5 cm height x 14,8 cm in diameter. Chawans of Nin’ami Dohachi are exhibited in the most important museums, for example the British Museum.
