A Chinese B&W storage jar decorated with ladies playing a game in a garden, surrounded by children. Marked with an Artemisia leaf. Kangxi period (1662-1722). In the 19th century the silver mounts were added by an unknown Dutch silver smith. Hallmarked with the 'old sword'. This item is in a very good condition., with only a minor glaze chip to the mouth rim. H. 12 cm.
Of octagonal shape, decorated with Japanese ladies and floral panels. Signed: made in Hirado by Kusae'. Considering the size these were probably chocolate cups made for the export. The cups are 11,5 cm tall and 10 cm in diameter. The saucers are 15 cm in diameter. The set is in pristine condition.

sold Wonderful and important chawan: rounded wan-shaped tea bowl with high foot of the bamboo node style in the typical O-Ido shape. The light, little coarse clay with enclosures is expertly thrown and full glazed - including the foot - with a transparent glaze of wood ash with some feldspar. The glaze shows attractive shrinking (kairagi) in the lower half of the bowl. It shows discoloration from green tea, a sign of many years of careful use. The upper area is covered in iron chain mail with pair of double gourd plates, crest mon, gilt iron plates, throughout the kote. The shoulder edge has three hinge plates to fashion to the Do armor.
