The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical, glossy black iron oxide glaze inside and outside, leaving an unglazed 'window' on one side. The 'window' is decorated with chidori (plovers) flying over an irrigation wheelin iron oxide glaze which has then been covered with a clear ash and feldspar glaze. This is a... SOLD. Standing Jizo Bosatsu, the garment-clad hands bearing aloft a hoju (sacred jewel), sculpted in bold relief from a brick-hued igneous stone, now darkly patinated. Clearly dated to the fourth year of the Kyowa Era (1804), late-Edo Period. Very minor old loss. Variegated lichen accumulation overall.

**Sold** through our Liverpool shop A heavy porcelain jardinere or plant holder very finely painted with flowering peony and other shrubs in shades of underglaze blue and standing on three Chinese Ming Dynasty style Lion head feet. This item was made in Japan during either the late 19th or early 20th Century.
Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoration.

SOLD A fine small ivory okimono of Jurojin holding a peach with a deer at his side. The figurine measures 2.25" (5.7 cm) high. Signed on bottom, it is in excellent condition. Price $650 USD.
The ivory stand does not go with the okimono, but we like them displayed together. Stand measures 1.75" (4.4 cm) and has some age cracks, but it is solid. Stand price $125 USD.
