Standing Sho-Kannon Bosatsu, the left hand holding a long-stemmed lotus bud and the right forming the semu-in mudra of fearlessness, sculpted in bold relief from a brick-hued igneous stone. Early-Edo Period ca. 1650. Very minor old loss. Overall black-soot patination due to centuries of exposure to the smoke of devotional-use candles, oil lamps, and incense sticks.

A black-glazed stem cup was uniquely mold with decoration on the surface with thorn-like pattern.

Gorinto (5-tiered stupa) sculpted in shallow relief from a gray-blue igneous stone. Momoyama/early-Edo Period ca. 1600. Very minor old loss. Light lichen accumulation overall.

A notably good piece, elegantly sculpted and with significant age.

Hard to find, 19th Japanese articulated spiny lobster. Loss case method of solid copper. Each piece is meticulously cast and fitted with all 10 legs and long antenna. Fully articulated and movable, the lobster if fully splayed for viewing on a complex mounted stand.
