Price on Request Tall Chinese hardwood cabinet in two sections, elaborately carved all over with scenes of eight dragons in light color wood on dark hardwood ground carved with swirling clouds, rocks and waves. The sides of the cabinet are also made of dark hardwood and carved with scrolling key fret motif. Brass hardware is incised with matching key fret and chimera designs. c. 1950.
Total size: 86 " high x 35 1/4" wide x 15 3/4" deep
(bottom section is 66 1/2" high. top section is 19 1/2" high)

$240 DESCRIPTION: A long, six-sided Chinese ink stick with nicely detailed dragon and phoenix curling about the surface. Short, impressed Chinese inscriptions are found on two sides. One of the four treasures of the scholar's studio, ink sticks (or cakes) would be carefully ground by the scholar and mixed with water on an inkstone to paint calligraphy or scrolls with a brush. This black ink stick is in good antique condition. DIMENSIONS: 6 1/2" long (16.5 cm) x 1 1/4" diameter (3.2 cm).

Japanese silver wire cloisonne vase. Green, aubergine, coral, violet, white, yellow, dark blue and black enamel decoration of bird and flowers all on a light blue enamel background.
