A rare and splendid genuine Ming Dynasty Tomb Pottery Horse bending it's head down with a seated musician playing the cymbals. Pale Sunset colors show mottled through the grays of this fine vase by important Hagi artist Kaneta Masanao enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 10 x 7 x 8 inches (25 x 18 x 21 cm) and is in fine condition.

It is a silk kimono made in Akita region in the latter half in the Meiji era. In the times when better quality was found in the Meiji era, this is a superior expensive item. An antique Japanese bronze usubata in the shape of a large gourd with a morning glory vine wrapped around the gourd. The realistic expression seen in the details of the leaves of the vase is distinctive of Japanese art. Age: Meiji-Taisho Period c1910 Size: Diameter 12.5" Height 12.5"

Fantastic antique Japanese Kutani ware sculpture of one of the fortune deities known as Hotei. The figure is carrying a child who is trying to clean the ears of Hotei. Hotei is interestingly dressed with motifs of dragons and scrolling clouds, inspired by Chinese brocades. Eggshell or semi-eggshell Chinese vase of baluster shape, Qianlong sealmark in red but probably early 20th Century, Republic period. A Chinese jar, 19th Century Kangxi revival. Wu jin or mirror black glaze and decoration in gilt of flowers and birds in reserves against a diapered background. Condition: drilled hole to the base and wear to the gilt, minor scratch marks and some wear around the neck (from the original lid, now missing). A refined Korean Buncheong celadon vase. Buncheong refers to the technique of incising a repeating pattern on the clay surface and white clay is filled in creating a strong contrast of greys and celadon colors with the white lines. An interesting square porcelain brush pot with a long inscription of the Chu Shi Biao composed by the 3rd century strategist, Zhuge Liang. The inscription makes the argument that the state of Shu Han must fight against Cao Wei. The calligrapher at the end signs and dates the piece: The 23rd Year of Kangxi, (inscribed by) Wen Fang. A white porcelain "Blanc-de-Chine" Buddhist Lion incense stick holder in similar style to the larger Guardian Lions which are frequently to be found at the entrances to Buddhist temples. Japanese silk kimono decorated with a beautiful scene of flowers including irises, peonies, and chrysanthemums with a little stream in color with gold details all on a very light cream color ground, Taisho Period. Size: 58" high x 51" wide.

Decorated with Fo dogs, typical for the Jiajing period (1522-1566). H. 17 cm. The lid also dates from the Ming Dynasty but was matched with the jar. Condition: the jar is in very good condition, the lid has a chip.

Our Kutsu / gutsu gata ( shoe shaped ) tea bowl is made of iron bearing Karatsu clay.

Its fastly but expertly thrown body is glazed inside and outside, with the exception of the bottom including the roughly cut foot ring with an ash glaze which has some Feldspat mixed in glaze.
