Sold. Thank you! This Japanese doll looks like a woman from Ukiyo-e (pictures of the "floating world") wood block prints. She is sensual and inviting; posing to fix her hair with a hair pin. To do so, she would need to tilt her head sideways and gently pull out the hair pin so she wll not make a mess of the hairdo. The process takes delicate movement of the fingers and is also a chance to show off the area behind her neck which is considered to be the most sensual place to show for a women wearing a kimono.

Length 66 in. (168 cm), sleeve to sleeve 49 ½ in. (126 cm). Few light stains, one torn seam at sleeve (ca. 2 in.), one small moth hole in seam of other sleeve, otherwise good condition.

$650.00 Antique Japanese Satsuma ware bowl in the shape of a money pouch, decorated with motif of procession of children pulling flower cart, ceramic with gold and polychrome overglaze, Meiji Period.
Size: 5 1/2" high x 6" wide (diameter).
A must have for any lotus shoe collector. This iron was used for pressing lotus shoes. The thin curved end was useful for getting into the toe area.
Made of iron, it is somewhat rusty-i.e. pleasantly aged.
