$2,700.00 Neolithic era ceramic amphora, Yangshao Culture, Yellow River area, China. This baluster form vessel is made with a narrow neck and slightly flared rim. High shoulders taper downward to a narrow foot. Two strap handles are attached just below the center of the body. Painted with geometric patterns in red and black mineral pigments.

SOLD Ancient Chinese tomb pottery figure of a horse and rider. Made of gray clay and painted with polychrome slip pigment. The figure is clothed in flowing robes and a hat that covers his ears. Facial details on both the figure and the horse are wonderfully well preserved.

$1,600.00 Sculpture of the Bodhisattva Jizo, standing with a jewel in his left hand. His right hand points down to the earth in a welcoming gesture. The sculpture was built according to the yoseki saigu technique of separate blocks. Originally a layer of gesso covered the wood, over which black lacquer. The lacquer and gesso have come off from most of the sculpture, revealing finely written sutras or Buddhist texts in black ink all over the body of the figure.

Five serene white concave disks set on unique bases by Kato Yoshiyasu enclosed in the original signed and compartmentalized wooden box titled Asobi Kodai Hai, Gokyaku Soroi (Playful Foot Five Sake Cup Set). Each cup is roughly 8 cm (3-1/4 inches) diameter, and all are in excellent condition, from the artist this year. This set was assembled by the artist specifically for our gallery, and is the only boxed set like it in the world.
