Zentner Collection
SOLD Chinese yellow soapstone scholar's seal. The stone is carved with scenes of sages and their attendant with landscape ground of mountains, pine trees, and bamboo. The reverse is also carved with a man seated at the edge of water, his finger pointing towards the mountains where a temple roof is partially unobscured. The seal on the base of the soapstone reads "a virtue should be praised".

$2,500.00 Tang authentic pottery plate with a sancai-glazed inner and outer rim. The alternating and flowing green and ochre/brown glazes give beauty to the simple form of the plate. Under magnification, the glaze shows very fine crackle and the edge of the glaze is iridescent.
Period: Tang Dynasty(618 - 907 AD) Size: Diameter = 23.2 cm (9-1/8 inches) Condition: Good. No cracks or breaks. Has stacking spur marks from when it was fired. Has a small chip on the rim.

Price on Request Chinese hardwood painting table. The whole body, except for the top, is carved in relief with lingzhi fungus. The waist, the apron, and the connecting joints are also decorated. The legs are cabriole with block carved hoof feet.

$2,800.00 A very unique jade carving of a bird's head with a tapered body. The black coloring is the result of a long burial period. Under certain lighting conditions the jade has a translucent appearance. I tried to capture some of it in the photos. Provenance: From Beijing many years ago from an old Chinese collector. Size: L. 6.4cm. W. 4cm. Condition: No cracks or repairs.

$395 DESCRIPTION: A fine red and gilt Chinese scholar's ink cake in circular form with the front and back molded in relief in the form of a foo dog (shi shi) with tightly curled mane. Both the front and back have raised Chinese characters in relief. Excellent condition in original box, and dating from the first quarter of the 20th C. or earlier. DIMENSIONS: 2 ¾” diameter (7 cm).
