The exterior is decorated with carved and/or moulded petal forms. Measures just over 6” diameter x 1 3/4" high. Circa 13th century. Very good overall condition. From the estate of Gerhard Lohmeier, a Diplomat at the German Embassy in Beijing from 1985 to 1989.

Sold, Thank you very much Definitely very rare Underglazed-Red dish, decorated with slight concave in the center painted with parrots and peaches, surrounded by a pair of Dragons among the clouds, all objects with copper red, appear to emerge from the surface. Underside is plain with four characters mark "YONG LE NIEN ZHE" Ming Dynasty 15th Century possibly of the period or slight later. Diameter: 26,1 cm.

The background is chiseled with amati and has a yellow reflection which could be the remains of missing gilding . The barrel is made of carved wood, and appears original.

This attractively-shaped pottery jar dates to the Siwa culture (c. 1350 BC), one of the later Chinese Neolithic cultures overlapping the Bronze Age. It has been fired to an attractive orange-red and has a burnished surface making it smooth to the touch and a pleasure to handle. It has a wide body with a relatively small flat base... A fine Chinese snuff bottle, made of molded porcelain decorated with a dragon and a phoenix among clouds in relief. With gilt mouth and base rim. The stopper is lost, the mouth with an old restoration. Condition: traces of usage, mouthrim with restoration, without stopper, slightly pitted. Dimension: total height: c. 7.6 cm, c. 4.1 cm wide, c. 2.5 cm deep.
