A refined antique Chinese painting done in a style similar to Western style paintings. These paintings were thought to be done in the Canton Concessions in Guangzhou during the late 19th century. Often these works depicted scenes of daily life in the streets of the Qing Period. This particular view is showing two martial artists showing their skills. Antique Chinese snuff bottle made of peking glass (Tao Liao Ping), with an orange background and white and bright green glass overlay, hand carved into the shape of flowers on a vine. The artist would have started with a single-colored glass,dipped the bottle into the white and green glass to create layers, and then carved away the excess. 19th century Size: 2 3/8" tall, 1" wide

Antique white porcelain snuff bottle with hand painting of two Chinese dragons and a topper of green agate. One dragon/serpent swims through the waves, while another flies over its head. Dragons are a symbol of good luck to the Chinese and also used to represent the emperor of China. Five claws is a symbol of elitism, while three or four claws is suitable for commonfolk. 19th century Size: 3.25" tall, 1.25" wide

Chinese bowl or dish in a famille rose style, with a light blue base and interior rim, yellow ground with flecks of red and green in a floral pattern, and a large design of a butterfly with blue, pink, purple, and green colors. Signed on back. Late 19th-early 20th century Size: 5.75" wide, 2" tall, 4" deep

Chinese Pig Skin Leather Trunk in reddish brown color, 11 1/2" high, 27" wide, 17 1/2" deep, with brass round lock plate and handles on both side and lined with cotton fabric inside, and maker's trade marks stamped in front. There are some wear and tear on two(2) corners near top front area.

Antique copper letter opener with a Jadeite handle, with traces of gold gilt and overlaid silver hilt. The hilt is a small silver bat, a symbol of good luck. Carved on one side of the knife is a Chinese dragon and sun, on the other side is a phoenix or fenghuang with a long vine of berries and a flower. The jadeite insert handle has a bat and floral design. Provenance James Coburn Estate, Circa 1900 Size: 8" long, 3/4" widest point

DESCRIPTION: A fine, large Chinese boxwood toggle in the shape of a Chinese coin with four script characters on each side surrounding the square hole. Around the edge, various plant and animal forms are carved in high relief, including a flower, bird, squirrel and bat. The suspension cord, connecting it to an object such as a tobacco pouch, would have been strung through the openings under the bat's wings. Wonderful patina, excellent condition, and dating from the 1800's or earlier...

Gorgeous tall hardwood 20 Century hardwood cabinet possibly huanghuali with pierced decoration. Excellent detail shown in the carvings on all three sides. Circa 1900, a lovely Chinese porcelain box featuring a floral theme on all sides with engraved bronze or brass metalwork. In excellent condition including the hinge, this box measures 5" x 3.5" x 2.55".
