This is one of the most well painted Kangxi "flower basket" plates I've seen, in an excellent shade of Kangxi cobalt blue. Please compare with a similar "flower basket" plate in the British Museum (Franks.221).

The shape and underglaze blue decorations of this vase are all taken from archiac bronze work, while the famille rose "boys at play" images evoke Qianlong imperial wares...

Vintage chinese wood chair from the 1960s, the wood is carved to imitate bamboo. The back is carved with a design of bamboo leaves. It measures 38" tall, the seat measures 18" deep by 23" wide. 1 of a set of 4, available as a set or individually.

Antique Chinese bronze incensor with pair of peaches as lid. The body is incised with a commemorative message: indebtedness by the students, the giver of gifts, spring in the year of the dragon, one of a pair. Peaches are very important in chinese culture, they symbolize life, immortality, and good fortune. It has a hanging arm with a bat charm. It measures 20" tall with hanging arm, base 4" wide. 19th century, 1821-1850.

Large Chinese Qing dynasty Qianlong period hexagonal form Yixing pottery tea caddy or canister. The flat panels are decorated with four moulded vertical stylized "dan" (tranquility) characters flanked by two bats each, symbolizing happiness and joy. The curved shoulder is encircled with small, impressed flowers. The bottom corners extend onto short, flat feet along the edge of the base. A mounted two line calligraphy attributed to the Buddhist monk, Hong Yi (1880-1942). Born as Li Shutong, Hong Yi was received his education in Japan specializing in Western painting and music. Intricately carved white jade lidded vase, standing on high foot, exquisitely detailed with pierced carved Hu-birds as handles on either side of oval shaped body, rings of jade are carved to hang free, lid with lotus shaped finial. Republic period. Size: 7" high x 4" length x 2" deep

Splendid Chinese white jade carving of seated monk with book resting on his side while greeting an attentive dog. Expressive and highly skilled carving with excellent detail and nuance. The stone of an even pale greyish-green with small orange striations. Republic Period. Size: 3.5” high, 4.5” wide.
