Dragon's Pearl

Remains of colours and gold. Tibet, 17–18th cent. H 15 cm. Condition: Very good but of course with wear due to age. The trident (khatvanga) is missing.

Very finely turned in a simple but elegant shape and quite heavy, near 1kg- and signed (noted in enlargements), appears to be unused but with some patina- made circa mid 20th century.

It is most likely a fragment of a tent covering that was turned into a decorative tapestry in the 20th century.
This is a remarkable piece of antique Indian tribal Banjara patchwork textile crafted with great care and attention... A pair of Tibetan finger cymbals made from cast bell metal. Decorated with incised dragons and double-vajras, interior with vajra, connected by an orange textile strap. With a long-enduring high and clear tone. Condition: traces of age, strap a bit worn. Dimension: diameter: c. 7.5 cm, weight: 356 g.
A Nepalese dagger used in Shamanic and Buddhist rituals, carved from wood with a glossy patina. The handle section in the shape of a vajra with endless knots and three faces, the blade trigonal. Condition: traces of usage. Dimension: 21.1 cm long.

Powerful and quite rare wood image depicting Hayagriva, the wrathful emanation of Avalokiteshvara, with a horse head appearing from his skull, a dorje in his right hand; he is wearing a long necklace of skulls (the center, lower part is lost), he wears a human and elephant skin on his shoulders ( the lower, left corner of the “skin†is broken, old brake). H. 17 cm. (6,7 inches). Tibet, late 18th cent.

€250.00 Finely cast, with fine details, miniature statue of Bodhisattva Tara, the Buddhist Goddess of Compassion, wearing a diadem, a dhoti and jewelry, sitting on a lotus throne in "lila asana" posture with her right foot resting on a lotus flower. A lotus in full blossom is resting on each arm. Bronze, with nice age patina. Tibet, early 20th century. Height: 5.4 cm. Very good condition.

Silver alloy, with a fine age patina. The center of each vajra must have contained a coral or turquoise to enhance the beauty of the case. The case was made in Tibet in the 19th century, maybe earlier. Length: 33.5 cm. Very good condition .

£245.00 A Tibetan Bronze figure of Shakyamuni, 19th century or earlier.
Buddha sat in a mediative pose, one hand in his lap, the other connects to the earth. The head has been dressed with gold paint, the hair exhibits traces of blue. A good quality sculpture that seems to have had a hard life and has seen better days. There is a bruise to each upper arm, one larger than the other and some distortion to the bottom of the lotus base. Approximately 9.5 cm high... Beautifully decorated book cover, of very refined gilded hammered copper on wood, with, on one side, two dragons with the "Ratna", or "Mani" (the Jewel of the Buddhist doctrine) in the middle, surrounded by stylised cloud motifs and framed in lotus design.
On the other side, three handpainted Buddhist figures representing Manjushri, Chenresig and the Mahakala. These paintings have withstood the test of time a little less well than the front side...
