Price on Request Japanese mid 20th century cylindrical shaped bamboo flower basket by basket master, TANABE CHIKUUNSAI II. TANABE CHIKUUNSAI II, from the Osaka area, lived from 1910 to 1999. This basket is signed by the artist and comes with TOMOBAKO, its original wooden artist signed storage box. Also comes with original TOMOGIRE or artist stamped wrapping cloth and OTOSHI, or bamboo water holder. The basket measures 14" tall, 6 7/8" wide and 6 1/2" deep.

Sold, Thank you A hermitage lost in the early blossoms of the plum forest, ink and light color inside a wide gold border and mulberry frame typical of the Taisho era. Gold powder has been liberally applied intimating a shimmering mist throughout, creating an ethereal quality. Signed in the upper left corner, it is 68 x 149 inches (172.5 x 378 cm) and in overall fine condition.

Takanawa Sengakuji Temple, 1933. Size: Oban. Approximately 15.75 x 10.5 inches. Publisher: Doi Hangaten (seal), also bears Doi watermark. Carver: Harada (seal). Printer: Yokoi (seal). This seal combination indicates an early post-war edition. Reference: Koitsu catalog no: TK-DH-7. Condition: Excellent. On the back, two spots of tape residue. Sengakuji is a Buddhist Temple in Tokyo. It houses the graves of The 47 Ronin.
