Mastromauro Japanese art
EUR €2,500 Ivory okimono, carved from a single block, depicting a delicate family scene with a mother and her two children. The mother holds her youngest child in her arms, who happily clutches a horse-shaped puppet. Next to them, the eldest daughter approaches gently, offering her mother a basket full of fruit.
Signature “Norikazu” engraved under the base.
Period: Meiji late 19th century.
Dimensions: 13.5 x 8.5 x 5 cm.
Condition: Excellent general condition...
A boxwood okimono depicting two monkeys with blond and black horn eyes, busy mixing miso. Signed Jigaku under the base.
Period: Meiji late 19th century.
Dimensions: 9 x 10 x 9.5 cm.
Condition: Excellent. There is slight wear on the patina and right paw of the smaller monkey, restored.

$2,950.00 Slightly distorted Ao-Oribe Chawan with a rounded brim, made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potter's knife in its lower part around the foot ring. The foot ring is typical for Oribe bowls produced around 1610 at the Motoyashikiki and other kilns. The kamajirushi '<' kiln mark beside the foot ring underlines this once again. Such old and spectacular Oribe bowls are usually only viewable in museums...

The 10th KISHU TOKUGAWA shogunate, Harutomi Tokugawa started the official ware (ONIWA ware) in the official KAIRAKUEN kiln in 1819. It was contined until 1867. The emblem of TOKUGAWA Japan's feudal government in EDO era is molded on the body. The seal of the KAIRAKUEN kiln is also clearly visible on the mizusashi...

This is the work that Shotaro may be best known, and is the only one able to acquire these colors. It is 25.5 cm (10 inches) tall, 17 x 14.5 cm (7 x 5-1/2 inches) across the base and in excellent condtion.
Hayashi Shotaro (b. 1947) is one of the biggest names in contemporary Mino ceramics...

On Hold This is a beautiful rare, wire and wireless vase from Ando. Gonda was probably the artist. It's a big vase standing 30 inches tall. Has beautiful enameling with delicate tonal changes that do not show up well in the images. The vase is in very good condition overall, but does have an excellent fill, an bit bigger than a thumbnail on the back side. See last image.

Sugitani Keizo was born in Osaka in 1959. In 1982 he graduated the Ceramic Art Institute of the Tekisui Museum of Art. He has selected for a number of group exhibitions including the International Ceramics Competition Mino and the Asahi Art exhibition, where he has been awarded... A ceramic panel in white by Morino Taimei enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled WORK 88-6. It is 25.5 x 4.5cm depth 31.5cm tall (10 x 2 x 12-1/2 inches) including the wooden base and is in excellent condition.
Morino Taimei was born in Kyoto in 1934, and was first accepted into the Nitten National Exhibition at a relatively young age in 1957 (a year before graduating the Kyoto Municipal University of Fine Art!)... A pointed tower in burnt gray clay by Mihara Ken enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Seki Kaki. Three slabs curvaceously rise to an unconventional horn, slotted on one side to accept a flower. A single camellia blossom in rich red, a few green leaves pitted against the gray body in the dark corner of a Tea Room would be incredible...
