$2900.00 This is a very special example of Japanese Cloisonne. The workmanship and elegant form are what makes this piece so special. This vase was acquired from one of the world's greatest cloisonne collections. It measures 12 inches tall. Great overall condition but it does has a very tiny enamel flake (See last image) on the back shoulder and minor pitting. It is not signed.

SOLD This is a great example of Japanese Satsuma artistry. This bowl was made and signed by Hankinzan. The bowl measures 5 inches across. It is an exceptional piece with extremely fine work. There are hundreds of detailed birds all with overglaze enamels. I also believe it was made with the thicker mercury fired gold. While this bowl looks nearly perfect, it has about a 1 inch line that goes part way down one side that is very hard to see without magnification...

Japanese limited edition woodblock print by French artist Paul Jacoulet (1902-1960) titled "The Squatting Man. Chinese" (L'Homme accroupi. Chinois) published November 20, 1947. This image is illustrated on page 66 (plate 88) of “The Prints of Paul Jacoulet” by Richard Miles, 1982. It is described on page 108. Dancing Fox Size: O-tanzaku. Approximately 14.75 x 7.5 inches. Publisher: Daikokuya Date: ca. 1910-1923. Koson signature and seal. "Made in Japan" stamped on verso. Reference: K41.15a in Crows, Cranes and Camellias: The Natural World of Ohara Koson (Reigle Newland). Medium: Japanese woodblock print. Condition: Excellent. The fox wears a lotus leaf on his head. This more rare variant features grasses in the background.

SOLD An antique Japanese Gyosho Tansu also known as a merchant peddler's chest made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Five drawers behind the hinged front door and a sixth drawer below the door. The sides have upper iron cord holding rings and cord holes at the bottom which allowed the merchant to carry this tansu on his back while transporting his wares. All original hand made iron hardware.
