Korea, Joseon dynasty, late 19th century, Framed without glass.
Painted in ink and color on paper with tiger and magpie on a branch of pine tree,
a tiger positioned of listening a message from messenger, a magpie, with good news.
It’s in fine condition but has a small stain on the upper left.
It measures 89cm x 51cm (35” x 20”) painting only,
or 101cm x 76cm (40” x 30”) overall.

$680.00 江原盤 / GANGWONBAN Simple and refined low rectangular wooden table made in Gangwon Province in the northeast Korea called 'Gangwonban' categorized into a type of 'Soban' as the traditional Korean wooden table for individual use, early 20th century, approx. 45.5 x 34.5 x H 25.5cm (17.91 x 13.58 x 10.03in). Handy lightweight structure as easy carrying and storing. Some expected scratches and chips due to aging, but in generally good condition as is and stable... This is the only ancient Korean mace ever offered for sale. The few existing examples are all in museums in Korea. It is from the Early Joseon Dynasty, 16th Century or earlier. Only Korea has this type of straight mace with a perfectly round head. And the head is made from iron insets just like the scales on Korean royal armor. 22 inches (46 cm) long, 3.5 inches (9 cm) wide.
