A large and stupendous glass vase with a wide mouth decorated with deep, green abstract bands on gold foil by glass artist Tabuchi Koseki (b. 1932). Mouth and bottom with darker bands of deep brownish colour. Signed in the bottom ‘Koseki.’ It comes with fully inscribed, signed and stamped storage box, kiri-tomobako. Japan, late Showa, ca. 1980. A plum by Yumei Sosho of Sokokuji temple timidly opens its blossoms under a brief epithet by Taishitsu Sosho of Daitokuji temple. A rare gassaku work by these two priests. Ink on paper in original border, ivory rollers dated 1808. The ivory rollers will be replaced if shipping overseas. The scroll is 12 x 71 inches (31 x 180 cm). A rare slope-shouldered bronze bell with stand from the Dong Son culture in Vietnam. At the shoulders and at the base are large curl designs with a bull's head in the center and animals around the bell.

Period: Dong Son Culture - 300-200 BC.

A Japanese single section Sendai tansu, constructed of Keyaki (elm) front panels and Sugi (cedar) sides, with original light finish and black lacquered frame. The drawers of this chest have large, decorative, hand-forged iron lock plates with floral motifs and mokko (melon) handles. The side of the chest has a safe door with 3 small Keyaki burl front drawers inside.

An unusual Japanese choba tansu (merchant's chest) constructed of Kiri (paulownia) wood with natural finish. This unusual piece contains a top compartment behind sliding panels as well as another below it, the lower compartment containing two shelves and a set of 3 small drawers with decorative locking plates, opened by kan (ring) pulls. The middle inner drawer contains a secret hidden compartment. All in original condition.

An original Tibetan trunk, all hand-painted in red pigment with yellow pigment motifs of flowering vines and central mandala wheel. The sides of the chest are carved with foliate edge apron just below the iron locking clasp. The trunk's lid lifts away to access the roomy interior.

A nice assortment of glass beads made into a necklace. The beads date primarily from early Tang to Ming Dynasties. There are also some earlier beads mixed in. Size: Total length 70cm. or 27 inches.

Chinese heavy Limestone carved Slab with leafy floral design on one side and smooth plain on the other side, 19th century or earliker, 15"wide, 15" high, 11" deep-base. One big piece is off on the bottom.

A very unusual & original Han well with the "jing" design, symbol for well and two intertwined snakes for the handle. There is some iridescence at the bottom of the base of the green glaze from age. Green glaze was used to make it look like bronze. Size: H. 30.5cm W.16cm. Condition: Very small repair on the underside of the rim, otherwise in very good condition. See photo.

Exquisite pair of lacquered wood temple lotus offering stands in lotus motif. The Lotus is the penultimate buddhist symbal of purity. The base is a lotus with lotus flowers on the stem and lotus cup at the top. Minor lacquer wear but in fabulous condition for its Meiji Period C.1890 age. 12" tall and 6" wide.

A rare set of Sake Service Vessels (Tokkuri) by important artist Yagi Kazuo stamped near the base the white slip and engraved with butterflies and a poem. Emblazoned is the verse
