SOLD. Standing Jizo Bosatsu with hands forming the gassho mudra of adoration, figurally sculpted from tuff, an igneous stone composed primarily of volcanic ash. Mid-Edo Period ca. 1700. Minor old loss and overall softening of the lines and contours, with significant lichen accumulation.
Height: 36.5 cm A notably charming example of early- to mid-Edo Period stone sculpture.

Made for the European market, the well surrounded by a Rococo scroll border. Diameter "8 ½ / 21.2 and height"1 ½ / 4 cm. Condition: rim frits and wear to the well (cf. pics).
Well hollowed shadow agate snuff bottle, of classical shape, with a "tao tie" mask in relief on each shoulder. The stopper is made of coral, turquoise and silver with a felt base. The spoon is made of iron. The piece dates back to the Qing Dynasty, 19th century. Its height: 6.4 cm without stopper. Its total height: 8.2 cm. Excellent condition.

sold, thank you The dreamlike quality which gave Taisho period art its unique flavor is readily apparent in this sumptuous composition by Kido Soi featuring long tailed birds along a tumbling stream. Pigment on silk mounted on applied gold flake in a silk border with a red lacquer wooden frame consistent with the era. It is signed in gold, Shunyo, the name used by Kido Soi in his youth, placing the screen easily before 1930. The screen is 67.3 x 56-1/4 inches (171 x 143 cm) and is in fine condition.
