DESCRIPTION: A simply carved agate rubbing stone in the form of a Chinese boy carrying a ruyi. The semi-precious stone is pure white with brown inclusions that have been incorporated into the design as the boy’s cloak, hat and ruyi, which he carries on his shoulder. A small hole has been drilled through the ruyi at the back of the head for stringing and wearing from the belt as a toggle. A rare and vivid Imari ware porcelain tea pot, made around 1850 in the famous Hichozan Kiln. Hichozan was a trade name used by the group of Arita kilns & makers mainly for export during the late Edo to the Meiji period in the 19th century. Their works are hold in museums and from collectors worldwide.

A Fu lion is hand-painted on the body. The signatures of "Hichozan" and the potters name are written on the bottom.

Story illustrates Dung Fang Shuo, the daoist sage, and auspicious symbols carrying the peach of immortality, with the bat of longevity flying overhead. Two seals are displayed. Antique Japanese Funa Bako (ship safe box) made of a very dark reddish Keyaki (Zelkova) hardwood, with a front hinged door adorned with iron hardware. Decorated with small flower studding and flower lockpins. Behind the hinged door are six drawers of varying size with ring pulls. Very heavy and solid, original finish. Features a hidden secret drawer.

Japanese Antique Iron Tetsubin with Bronze lid. Tetsubin has a Mount Fuji Shape. Kettle displays a fainted casting of a Japanese Kiri bird and phoenix on one side. A crane and turtle are also displayed along with a 5 character mark and cartouche medallion. Handle is thin, casted with bamboo nodes. Bottom of Tetsubin is in good condition.
