SOLD Small Japanese antique tansu for personal use, made all of kiri (paulownia) wood, 1 larger drawer along the top, 3 medium sized drawers down the left side, 3 smaller drawers of varying sizes down the right side, lots iron hardware including warabite shaped drawer pulls, lock plates on every drawer except the one smallest drawer, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
Size: 17 1/2" high x 23 3/4" wide x 12 3/4" deep.

SOLD. Standing Seishi Bosatsu, the hands forming the gassho adoration mudra, sculpted in relief from a dense, gray-black igneous stone. Clearly dated on one side to the 17th year of the Kyoho Era (1732), mid-Edo Period. Minor old loss to the perimeter.
Height: 60.5 cm A squarely monumental piece showcasing a delicately rendered Seishi Bosatsu in an oval frame, with irrefutable temporal provenance. Uncommon.

Damascene was an process of inlaying metal objects with 22K gold or silver decoration. These dome shaped cuff links were made in Japan, circa 1950 featuring a mythical Imperial phoenix bird surrounded by flora and fauna, unmarked, swivel toggle back. Size: 7/8" diameter. The blue Koransha mark on the reverse dates these more specifically to circa 1875-1880. From our Southeast Asia Collection, a very fine Burmese silver alms-style bowl, late 19th century, extremely well-executed in deep repousse technique with a continuous scene of thirteen figures depicting an episode from the Burmese Jataka Tales (previous lives of the Buddha), bordered on top by a row of maw-pan floral scrolls incorporating seven chin-thei (Burmese buddhist lions), and bordered on the bottom by a row of stylized acanthus leaves.
