The fenghuang symbolizes the union of yin and yang, and each part of its body represents a different word: its head is for virtue, wings are duty, back is propriety, abdomen for credibility, and chest for mercy. Superb chinese fluorite carving of Guanyin with a weight of 2,1 kg, made around 1750. It is Jade green in areas and almost clear in others and it shows the numerous flaws running through so stone typical of so-called green quartz (actually fluorite). It is raised on a hardwood stand, which is forming the torso of the Guanyin.

Wonderful and unusual display piece with a cubistic aesthetic - definitely singular.

Beautiful agate carved into a flower basket, extremely detailed. The basket has a handle with removable string attached. The basket itself has almost a flower pot shape to it, with a maze-like design carved around its sides. The top of the basket has a beautiful flower carved on either side with vines and leaves and has a round opening in the center. 19th century Size: 3.75" wide, 2" tall handle flat, approx 3.27" inches with handle up
