A very finely carved hardwood ox or buffalo, surmounted by a young boy, on original stand, probably made for export during the second half of the 19th Century circa 1850-1900 . Condition - excellent - one glass eye of the boy is missing but, unusually, there is no damage at all to the sculpture and there has been no restoration. Beautiful early 20th century jade flask with fitted cap. There is an iris on both front and back of the flask carved in low relief with scrolling pattern. Small carved dragons on both sides with jade rings. Measures 10" long by 3" wide.

In intriguing and natural shape, the brush pot was preserved preciously by generations and have obtained the charming honey-brown patina that the ancient wood piece would only get.
It was in perfect condition.
One original hole was down underside. It was for fastening to a possible base...

A rock crystal carving was well depicted as a Guanyin holding a baby.
By characteristically dated features on the faces of the deity and the baby, the figures were well carved on the robes with affluent lines.
The benign facial expression of the Guanyin and the smiling face of the baby were well rendered by excellent traditional craftsmanship.
The rock crystal here was not in pure transparent look...

Charming Chinese soapstone carving of two children, beautifully carved with much attention to detail, two boys one holding a long string with coins for good luck and prosperity, the other with a straw hat and fan, symbols of the lucky gods. The soapstone itself is a very beautiful yellow color with striations and much character. On nice hard wood base. Total size with stand: 5 1/4" high Size of carving: 3 1/2" high x 3 7/8" wide x 2 1/8" deep.

By the precious Hertien pebble quality, the jade piece was reflected with fine greasy-feel sheen on the surface.
