$2,800.00 I have seen many antique paintings of mountain tigers, but none with this level of realism. This Chinese painting dates late Qing, 1910-1912, possibly early Republic, pre 1920. The seal indicates that it came from a shop in Southern China. It measures approximately 17" wide x 48" high.

By a well rendered craftsmanship, the covered box was in a magnificent mood by its astonishing image. Depiction of the holy image of Manjusri, the painting was preserved very well with only some old stains left on the outer portion of the painting. Waisted cylindrical form scholar's huanghuali wood brush pot with a slightly raised flat base and three low rounded feet.
