Jan Wirgin, Sung Ceramic Designs (Page 24-25), classifies this type of design as being 'Sickle-leaf scroll'. This type of design was associated with both the Yaozhou and Linru kilns; this bowl may be of the later kiln.
Diameter, 13.8 cm.
Condition: free from cracks or restoration. There is some glaze crawl to the underside; near the foot. It is slightly warped at the rim. There is a scratch by the foot.

£400.00 A beautiful Blanc de Chine libation cup, Mid C17th. The shape is taken from the original rhinoceros horn form of libation cup. The combination of motifs found on this cup is most pleasant; sprig moulded with tiger, dragon emerging from clouds, deer and flying crane. The applique decoration of this cup is indicative of it's early dating. Width approximately 13 cm. Good condition: one small speck of glaze missing from the rim.
