In characteristic Ming scholar mood, the inkstone was made from the unique Pudding stone. Date: Ming Dynasty, 15th Century. Dimension : 26cm x 16cm x 5cm Chinese late Qing dynasty Han style lady's jacket with a deep blue silk brocade background woven with bats among clouds. The sleeve bands are embroidered with cranes among branches laden with fruit and flowers set against a white ground bordered with woven ribbon accents. The collar, side closure, and ruyi head-form hem are all embroidered with butterflies and stylized flowers edged in yellow silk and ribbons set against a white ground. The front is carved in relief with a cat staring intently upwards at a nearby flying insect, surrounded by flora. The reverse is carved in relief with a bird perched on a flowering tree branch. The turquoise lidded stopper carved with lingzhi mushroom motif.

SOLD Chinese antique snuff bottle, carved entirely from turquoise in the form of a small adorable toad. The lower body of the toad appears more green and transitions to the classic turquoise blue in the upper body and face. the stone is mottled with natural dark brown oxide veining. The small toad is carved with a smiling, open mouth with a carved turquoise stopper.

Sold to China Necklace made of 13 carnelian and 14 enamelled silver beads, each ca. 2 cm. long. There are 52 small silver beads between the large ones. At the bottom two dragons chasing the flaming pearl. Hanging on 2 lingzi hooks there is a silver pendant in the shape of a boy riding a qilin, a fertility symbol. At the bottom of the pendant 2 turquoise beads and 2 carnelian flowers. The pendant without the beads measures 8 x 7 cm. The complete necklace is ca. 31 cm. high, the strand is ca. 52 cm long...
