A sizable fragment with excellent presence.

Statue of a traditional god, probably representing Kuan Ti or Kuan Yu, God of War, in formal garb, with a martial posture, sitting on a throne. Wood, with traces of the original gilding. Remnants of animal hair under nose and chin, to represent mustache and beard. At the back of the statue, the votive box is till closed. China, Qing Dynasty, 19th century. Height: 22.7 cm. Abrasion due to age, right arm partly missing, otherwise good condition.

A seated figure covering his eyes with both hands used in Tantric Buddhism believed to provide supernatural powers. and is a doctrine of enlightenment as the realization of the oneness of one's self and the visible world; combines elements of Hinduism and paganism including magical and mystical elements like mantras and mudras and erotic rites; especially influential in Tibet. This one is carved bone and encased in a waterproof plastic case. Size: Inside measurements. H. 2.5cm. W. 1.9cm.

Antique Japanese temple carving, beautifully carved with remnants of red and black pigments. The imagery of a fu dog between large peonies represents protection (fu dog) over wealth and prosperity (peonies).

Chinese Ming dynasty zhangzhou swatow large dish decorated with blue and white ship, whale, birds and flowers. 47,2 cm diameter. Dish in original good condition. Free from any repair. except has original fault from the kiln (please see on the pictures).

A rare lacquered scholar's screen with a Kylin and rider on the front. The back panel has a still life which has faded. Size: H. 61cm. W. 45cm. Condition: Fading and some peeling on both sides from age. Can be restored.

Square Philippine Ifugao basket with cover, known as a hu'up, used at meal time for steamed rice by the Ifugaos. Purchased in the Cordillera Region of Luzon island in the mid 1980s. Age of basket not known, but probably mid-century. 11.5"x 11.5"x 5" in height. In overall good condition.

Antique Japanese Sakata region choba tansu (merchant's chest) made of Kiri (paulownia) hardwood, with original red lacquer finish. The top drawer and safe box door are covered in more elaborate iron hardware than the other drawers, with motifs of lingzhi mushrooms, bamboo stalks, and other floral elements. Two gorinto (5-tiered stupa) standing side by side, a column of five Siddham-script seed-syllables (Jp. bonji) incised on each symbolizing the Five Wisdom Buddhas, namely, Dai-Nichi Nyorai, Ashuku Nyorai, Hosho Nyorai, Amida Nyorai, and Fukujoju Nyorai, sculpted in shallow relief from an iron-rich igneous stone. Momoyama/early-Edo Period ca. 1600. Excellent condition, with only very minor old loss.

An unusual jade male dancer with his legs twirling around each other, one arm on his chest the other straight down on his side. Most of the color of the jade is gone except for some remnants of the original jade still remaining. I have strung him to be worn as a pendent. Age: Han Dynasty. Size:5.4cm. Condition: No repairs.

Antique Korean porcelain bottle of an octagonal faceted form, with long neck fluting slightly at the rim, covered in a translucent crackle white celadon glaze. The foot is deeply recessed with buff edges.
