On Hold A Chinese Zhangzhou Blue and White Porcelain Plate, Circa, 1572-1620, Wanli, Ming Dynasty.
Found in the Philippines.
This plate features an underglaze decoration of an animal and foliate motif with patterns that run along its exterior rim. The back of the plate is shaped with a rounded cavetto that flares out to its mouth with kiln grit adhering to its foot rim.

SOLD A Chinese Longquan Celadon Bowl. Circa, 1368-1644, Ming Dynasty.
Found in the Philippines.
Featuring deep walls rising from a tall foot and is decorated with slender chrysanthemum-like petals encircling the exterior and its interior with a carved decoration. It is covered overall in a green celadon glaze except for the unglazed firing ring on the base.
Measurements: height (8cm), diameter (11cm) across.
Condition: in perfect condition. No cracks, no chips, no restorations.

SOLD A Chinese Blue and White High-Footed Cup. Circa, 1464-1487, Chenghua, Ming Dynasty.
Found in the Philippines.
Featuring a vegetal motif on its exterior and the interior is decorated with a bordered central flower head and patterns around the rim. Its base is fully glazed, except for its foot-ring.
Measurements: diameter (9.4cm) across.
Condition: there is a small rim frit but is overall in very good condition. No cracks, no restorations.

Inquire for Price Late 19c Chinese Blackwood or possibly Zitan wood brush pot in the classic style with smooth sides and a raised ring at mouth and bottom having 3 low standing low profile feet with drain hole in center bottom of pot. Carved from a single piece of wood, it still retains its original plug which is easily removed for drainage. In excellent condition commensurate with age, it measures 4-5/8" high x 4-1/8" diameter.

Suzuki Shonen (1848-1918) was a Japanese painter from the Meiji(1868-1912) to Taisho periods(1912-1926). Born as Suzuki Hyakunen's eldest son, he learned painting from his father from an early age. Shonen became a teacher at the Kyoto Prefectural Painting School in 1898. He was good at portrait painting and received awards at national industrial exhibitions, etc. Some light marks and foxing are present on the paint... A fine Chinese snuff bottle made from Carnelian, well hollowed. One side carved in relief with a bird on a rock beneath a bat, the backside engraved with a ruyi scepter. The stopper is made from white jadeit with a green spot and a bone spoon. Condition: the stopper eventually not original, traces of usage. Dimension: c. 6.2 cm high.

Inquire for Price Early 20th Century rose quartz carving of 2 beauties. Made of one piece, it is difficult to find a double figure carving like this. Presented on a custom rosewood stand, this rose quartz carving has really nice details that we were not able to fully capture with a camera. It is much nicer in person and you won't be disappointed. In excellent condition, it measures on stand 10-1/2" high x 5" wide x 2". Carving alone measures 9-1/8" high.

$295.00 Chinese Qing dynasty rectangular form hardwood stand with four inward curving legs resting upon small balls. The stand is carved on the curved apron with vines and lingzhi fungus. Top: 17” long (about 18” at apron) x top: 10” wide (about 11 1/4" at apron) x 7” high. Weighs 6 lbs. 19th century. The stand was more recently refinished and is in very good overall condition. A few of the balls twist a bit but are secure. From a Sun City West, Arizona collection.

Inquire for Price Wooden figure of a lion, companion to Fugen bosatsu. On his back he carries a lotus base, on which Fugen used to sit (figure missing). The lion stands on high and slightly stiff legs, each foot positioned on a small lotus base.
The figure has been carved out of several blocks of wood that were subsequently assembled into the final figure. This technique is called yosegi saiku and was widely used for complex sculptures like these. The tail is stuck into the back, remaining loose. The lotus ... |
